hello Rasa, xchange

As you know you are invited to take part in the n5m3 hybrium.
(Tongue in cheeck name for the hybrid medium of the conference itself)
I just would like to inform you a bit of what is happening, and
hope you will let us know what you have in mind concerning a
possible performance/webcast from your side, at the conference and
remotely.

Some dry inside info first:
The Next5Minutes conference (March 11th-14th) in Amsterdam will
involve a close collaboration between radio, television and web,
for the first time there. There will be one editorial board for all,
and we aim to work very much from the content of the conference,
its guests and projects. Instead of working apart from eachother,
uselessly covering several items double that way and missing others,
the aim is to make the different sub-media complement eachother
as much as possible. Considering the high individuality of the
Amsterdam media so far, this is quite revolutionary ;) There was
no collaboration three years ago at n5m2, and very little at HIP97.
General n5m3 hybrium editorial board: Menno Grootveld, Brigitte
Belanger, Willem van Weelden, Nina Meilof, Frank 'Keyser' and
Josephine Bosma. We are very serious and have no sense of humor.

We will have ra-streams of course, videostreams, cable-television
and -radio, plus several ether transmissions happening. Cable TV is
three hours every evening, radio (RA, ether) will happen as good as
24 hours a day. Web will have a journal, but will also serve as
support and extension of the other media at some points. (and I don't
mean IRC, which of course will be part of some debates of the conf
etc) All ether transmissions are illegal btw, and involve a broadcast
from the site itself, from Radio Patapoe, Radio 100, and quite possibly
at least also from one other transmitter which is allready here.

If you want to use the web for more then irc only, bring or send material
in advance of your performance so it can be put up there. We are thinking
of texts, photographs/visuals/drawings, links, whatever. It would also
be good to bring recordings of previous collaborative work or
Ozone webcasts.

There will be quite a number of other guests involved in net.audio
or similar stuff, some of which are also part of xchange. (Tetsuo
Kogawa, Rachel Baker, Heath Bunting, Convex TV, pirateradio.co.uk)

We have also scheduled a technical streaming media
workshop, which I understand you would like to take part in.
This will be one of the items we will stream completely and it
could involve remote partipation.

Sunday afternoon we feature a streaming media forum, in which
B92 has a special place and there will be short presentations
with audience discussion afterwards. The forum will consist of
Ashley Guillard (pirateradio.co.uk), Tetsuo Kogawa, Freespeech TV,
Panos Africa, Erwin Blow (VPRO) and of course B92.

The n5m program will be available from the 18th of March at
http://www.n5m.org

The coordination of the audio part of n5m3 is done by Frank (de Vrije
Keyser, the third Amsterdam pirate, keyser@xxxxxxxxx) and me.

Could you please write us your plans?

Looking forward

J
