DTMF
by Hans Groiss
18th of march
on air: 22:15
on line: http://thing.at/orfkunstradio
DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) signals are used in "touch-tone" telephone
dialing as internationally approved by the CCITT.
The radio project of Groiß uses phone numbers from the telephone data bank
(CDRom) used by medical doctors (Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat specialists),
distributors of hearing aids and associations for the deaf. In addition to
this data bank, Groiß has inserted the telephone number of the "Listener
Service Telephone" of the ORF (Austrian National radio).
Listeners in Austria can put the mouthpiece of their telephone handset
against the radio (or computer) loudspeaker: the signal from the radio will
dial the telephone number ---> connect to one of organisations given above.
