hey - don't be silly - 

take a look at the gorgeous collection:

it starts with the The Musical Telegraph by Elisha Grey (USA - 1876)
but there were lots of inventions before that, used mostly as magical
toys! so it would be very hard to say what the first "electronic"
(whatever that means) "instrument" (whatever that means either) would be. 

now anybody else knows of online documentation about all this?
