Thanks again John, gads. That is too bad I have been sending out the
times like that. I upgraded my system and have more trouble-crashes, lost
data, etc. I lost the realaudio encoder which preps audio for the the
player 5.0. I downloaded the real producer G2 which only creates audio for
the G2 unless i purchase for $150 the pro version to be able to create
media for 5.0-- they piss me off. I am not making any money off this
project!!

Do you happen to have a copy of the encoder before the G2 version? I think
it was the realaudio encoder 3.0. Realaudio no longer has a download for
this version. If so, do you think we could figure out a way of getting it
to me. I could give you my password, login if you think you could drop it
into art@radio folder. That would be so helpful.

I would love to hear your collection of sound works. Yes, I do remember
the cassett undergraound of the 70/80. I took part in it on several
levels. How could I tap back into that culture? I guess it was connected
to the mail art underground as well.

Some news in the search arena: I have an interview a week from
Monday/Tuesday at the SUNY, Buffalo University, Art Depart. I am very
excited about the potential the program has there. They are very organized
and up to speed in the curriculum area. It will be a lot of work but that
does not scare me what so ever. THey make this program look funny
curriculum wise. I will keep you informed of any further developments.
Genie was a little shocked at the idea of living in an area with such harsh
winters but when contemplating the opportunity for a democratic enviornment
we both got over that quickly.

We are in a financial squeeze this year with travel funds. I was turned
down (many junior faculty were also turned down) for financial DRIF grants.
Amazing compared to the last two years. Lets keep the idea floating
regarding what other ways I can help. I have mentioned this to the chair
several times-- he thinks is a great idea but nothing happens any further
than words.

got to run for now,
best, future,
steve
