Just downloaded quicktime 4 and reading into the specs of the server &
rtsp.. the format is supposed to be at least compatible with mpeg4.
Maybe this msg & contact may be of interest. Charles Wiltgen heads the
development team...

This will work via all the standards-based protocols supported in
QuickTime 4 (RTSP/HTTP/FTP).

However, an audio codec specifically optimized for dealing with
packet loss (such as QDesign Music and QUALCOMM PureVoice) would be
a better choice when doing RTSP streaming (which I also refer to as
"spray and pray" streaming, because there is normally always some
packet loss over the public internet).

If they're using a standards-based protocol, it will just work.  If
not, we've open-sourced the Darwin streaming server in order to help
move the entire industry forward to standards-based streaming.
