Hi guys. This email is cross posted to 3 lists, so please take care
when replying to make sure it only goes to where you mean it to.
Anyway, I met some of you at the "Synch or Stream Summit" at Banff
recently, and others I haven't met, but still want your input. I want to
write some "business cases" about why businesses should donate money to
the Free Expression Project (at http://www.free-expression.org/ ). What
I'd like to solicit from you guys is what you think this project will give
as compared to the technology that's already available (e.g. RealNetworks'
software). For example, low cost, no restrictions on usage or
redistribution. I'd like to know how it would affect (or empower) you and
what you're doing specifically. Also, if you could, please let me know if
I can only use what you have to say as ideas for writing the business
cases/grant proposals, or if I could include it directly in a grant
proposal as evidence for the need to develop software that's unencumbered
by corporate interests.

Thanks,
Lynn
