i'm sending you this email to announce the creation of the *internet &
new technologies* department at the teatro di roma (national theatre).
the teatro di roma is hosting during the season artists like: pina
bausch, peter sellars, nekrosius, mario martone, marco bellocchio,
carmelo bene a.o.  and has a strong commitment in the presentation of
new performing arts projects. 


together with teatro di roma's management information system staff i'll
be setting up and managing this new area devoted to network projects.
meeting point will be the web site of the house where - in a central
position - will be located *itaca* the electronic stage. the intention
is to create a permanent platform to be used regularly by everybody
experimenting network activities in a continuous way.

it's obvious that a project like this can only be made through an
intense net collaboration among everybody.


the opening of the project will be monday december 6, 1999, at 18.00
cet. i'm planning a webcasting between 18.00 and 19.00 and i'd like to
invite all of you to contribute with live streamings which will be
mixed in rome and redistributed across the net. the physical venue in
rome will be the teatro argentina (one of the theatre houses belonging
to the teatro di roma). the argentina is marvellous 18th century opera
theatre. you'll get pictures of it on the web site.

through the next week i will post to the list more specific information
about the project, but since now i'd like to invite you to mail ideas &
proposals.
