</U></FONT>Dear colleagues,<BR>
<BR>
We are pleased to inform you that the 8th edition of the Phonurgia Nova radio awards is<BR>
open. We would be grateful if you could forward the following information to interested parties: colleagues, sound artists, performers, etc.<BR>
<BR>
Information, registration forms, and MP3 audio files are all available on the following website :<BR>
<FONT COLOR="#0000FF"><U>http://phonurgia.org</U></FONT>. An English version will be soon available at the same url.<BR>
<BR>
The competition, is organized with the support of the city of Arles, the<BR>
French ministry of foreign affairs and the French ministry of culture. It is<BR>
split in 4 main categories :<BR>
<BR>
- fiction<BR>
- features<BR>
- sound design and acoustic works<BR>
- radiomix (the remixing a selection of audio files archives from the 20th<BR>
century provided by radios of the EBU)<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
Entries will be judged by a panel of personalities from the radio<BR>
industry, the arts and the media.<BR>
<BR>
Winners will get to share an overall prize fund of 15 000 Euros.<BR>
<BR>
The award ceremony will take place in Arles, on the 8th of July 2001, during a<BR>
special ceremony at the Roman Theatre.<BR>
<BR>
Practical information:<BR>
Deadline: completed entry form, entry fees, scripts and recordings must<BR>
reach Phonurgia Nova no later than the 15th of June 2001.<BR>

Concours de création radio Phonurgia Nova 2001<BR>

</FONT><BLOCKQUOTE><FONT SIZE="2">Depuis 1986, année de sa création sous l'impulsion de Pierre Schaeffer, la vocation de ce concours qui a déjà récompensé des dizaines d'auteurs radiophoniques et de radios en France et dans le monde, est de reconnaître les mérites de réalisations et de projets radiophoniques exceptionnels dans les domaines du reportage, du documentaire, de la fiction, et des productions d'art ou de design sonore.<BR>
<BR>
Au sein de ce concours, le Prix Radiomix, invite les participants à réaliser des ¦uvres musicales, sonores ou radiophoniques de courte durée, incorporant des éléments d'une palette de sons du XXème siècle, livrée sur CD ou téléchargeable en MP3 depuis le site internet de la manifestation : <FONT COLOR="#0000FF"><U>http://www.phonurgia.org<BR>

Ce concours ? qui est ouvert à tous : collaborateurs des radios, musiciens, DJ's, et sculpteurs de sons ? bénéficie du soutien des ministères de la culture et des affaires étrangères.<BR>

Il est soutenu par l'Union Européenne de Radiodiffusion, RFI, France Culture, l'INA-GRM, Le Mouv', le site francophoniques.org et l'association Francophonie-Diffusion. <BR>
<BR>
Au total plus de 15 000 Euros (100 000 Frs) seront partagés entre les lauréats, dont les ¦uvres seront promues</FONT> <FONT SIZE="2">par les radios partenaires de l'événement et rendues accessibles sur le site de la manifestation.<BR>

En 1997 date de sa précédente édition, cette compétition avait suscité l'envoi de 264 productions émanant de 24 pays d'Europe, d'Afrique et d'Océanie. Des extraits des émissions primées cette année-là sont accessibles sur le site de la manifestation.<BR>
