ABOUT THIS EVENT

This international conference brings together artists, critics, historians
and curators to discuss the issues raised by the moving image in art
galleries. What do galleries do to the moving image? In what contexts should
history locate the moving image in art? What is the status of cinema in the
light of gallery film/video?

Today's programme:

11.00 - 13.00: Cinemaphilia
What does artists' use of past cinema say about and do to film? For serious film, is cinema dead and the gallery the site of its future?
