we have been using real media for archives and quicktime for live broadcasts...

the sorenson broadcaster needs to be installed on the computer with the video card in it - to recieve the video feed and send it to a [quicktime streaming server which does not neccessarily have to be on site with you... it needs to be somewhere with high bandwidth and a fixed ip address] we used our own streaming server G4 with mac os x you have to pay for) and the darwin streaming server software which is open source and free...however if you find a qt service provider all you will need is the broadcaster installed and a video feed on site...
