Platoniq.net presents "MEDIA_SPACE INVADERS". Barcelona
Media_space invaders, (invasores del media_espacio) - art and politics of
e-democracy - is a mobile-workshop including talks, panels, projections and
actions that is hold in barcelona beetween the 14th and 24th of may. The
project travels beetween the electronic media_space and public spaces
(Goethe Institut, MACBA museum, the Centre of Contemporary Culture and the
streets of Raval and Poblenou "barrios", two hot spots of urbanistic,
cultural and political debates in barcelona.
Media_space invaders brings together artists, activists, theoricists,
journalists, organizers and other cultural agents to discuss and analyse the
cultural, social and political impact of new tecnology and independent
media. Low cost methods and strategies of mobility will be discussed as
well as the emergence of a survival co-operative cultural system and
economy.

Florian Schneider is a writer, filmmaker and net activist. He concentrates
on how new communication and migration regimes are being attacked and
undermined by critics of borders and networks. Schneider is one of the
initiators of the No One is Illegal campaign and one of the founders of
the noborder network and the Europe-wide internet platform, D-A-S-H. In
2001 he designed and directed the make world festival in Munich, and
organised metabolics, a series of lectures on net art and net culture.
He has also worked on several documentaries for the German-French
television station, Arte, including What's to be done? which looks at
contemporary activism. He also writes for major German newspapers,
magazines, journals and handbooks.

Micz Flor is a flexecutive cultural producer and media developer with a
special interest in video and streaming media. He lives in Berlin where he
set up the office Redaktion und Alltag (together with Tanja Lay), developing
and maintaining the political online magazine fluter for the Bundeszentrale
für politische Bildung. Flor is also working as a developer and training
consultant at the Center for Advanced Media - Prague, where he initialised
Campware. Currently Flor produces (together with Merle Kröger and Philip
Scheffner) ES EXPRESS, a series of documentaries for Substitute City at the
Volksbühne Berlin. Together with Philip Scheffner he is also working on a
documentary on independent radio networking in Indonesia, Nepal and Armenia.

Ursula Frohne is Professor of Art and Art History at International
University Bremen, Bremen, Germany.
Involved in curating numerous exhibitions on 20th-century architecture and
contemporary art, from 1988 to 1995 she was Assistant Professor at the
Department of Art History, Freie Universität, Berlin. She has been curator
at the ZKM and Associate Professor at the Hochschule für Gestaltung, both in
Karlsruhe, since 1995, and is at present Visiting Professor at the
Department for Modern Culture and Media at Brown University Providence,
Rhode Island. Her numerous publications on contemporary art, new media,
cultural and museum studies include video cultures (1999), KunstSammeln
(1999), Maler und Millionäre, Erfolg als Inszenierung: Amerikanische
Künstler im ausgehenden 19. Jahrhundert (2000) and Black Box (2001).
