 F&ouml;r tredje g&aring;ngen arrangerar vi G&ouml;teborg Art Sounds "GAS-festivalen" - festivalen
f&ouml;r nyskapande musik - med start den 11 oktober 2003. Ett 30-tal artister,
tons&auml;ttare och&nbsp; grupper presenterar nya former och l&auml;ten i det ljudkonstn&auml;rliga 
landskapet.</font></div>
 
<div><font color="#000000">Festivalen har snabbt etablerat sig som en viktig
h&auml;ndelse i musik- och konstlivet genom sin radikala programl&auml;ggning. Utifr&aring;n
id&eacute;n om ett r&ouml;rligt och dynamiskt inneh&aring;ll - ett levande uttryck - ifr&aring;gas&auml;tter
GAS&nbsp; s&aring;v&auml;l de kommersiella krafterna som de traditionellt konstmusikaliska 
festspelen.<br>
 <br>
 Vi tjuvstartar redan fredagen den 10/10 med att st&aring; f&ouml;r invigningen av Kulturnatta
i G&ouml;teborg. Senare under samma kv&auml;ll samproducerar vi en "f&ouml;rGASare" med
Pusterviksteatern d&auml;r etablerat och nytt blandas p&aring; ett uppfordrande vis.<br>
 <br>
 D&auml;refter visar festivalen under nio intensiva dagar upp det expansiva rum
som den nya musik- och ljudkonsten arbetar i. Scenerna &auml;r Pusterviksteatern
vid J&auml;rntorget, jazzklubben Nefertiti, Konserthuset, Artisten samt stadens
gator och torg. &Ouml;verallt m&ouml;ts levande musik, performances och installationer,
VJ:s och DJ:s med video- och ljudkonstverk i utmanande konstellationer.</font></div>

<div><font color="#000000"><b>Welcome to the 2003 GAS Festival</b></font></div>
 
<div><font color="#000000"><b>11-19 October 2003</b></font><br>

<div><font color="#000000">We at G&ouml;teborg Art Sounds are now arranging the
third GAS Festival - a festival of contemporary creative musical art. It
will kick off on 11 October 2003. Some thirty performers, composers and groups
will be presenting new shapes and noises on the soundscape!</font></div>
 
<div><font color="#000000">In its short lifetime and owing to its radical
programme structure, GAS has come to be seen as one of the major events on
the music and arts scene.</font></div>
 
<div><font color="#000000">The underpinning idea is that the programme should
be dynamic and mobile - a kind of living expression - and thus GAS critiques
both commercialism and traditional art music festivals.<br>
 <br>
 There will be a sneak preview on Friday 10 October, when GAS performers
inaugurate the annual G&ouml;teborg all night event --"Kulturnatta". Later that
evening we will also host a provocative mixed performance of new and more
established music, jointly with Pusterviksteatern.</font></div>

<div><font color="#000000">Beginning on 11 October and for nine intensive
days we will go on to display the expansive territory occupied by contemporary
new music and sound. Our venues include Pusterviksteatern at J&auml;rntorget,
Nefertiti jazz club, the G&ouml;teborg concert hall "Konserthuset", the G&ouml;teborg
University Colleges of Music and Theatre, "Artisten" and in the open air
on city streets and squares!</font></div>

Palestinian refugees' right to return, committing to the imperative
of negotiating not in spite of difference, but precisely because of
it.
