Irational.org  is a self-contained online toolkit for deploying irrational 
information, services and products for the displaced mobile user.  It 
supports independent artists and organisations that need to maintain mission 
critical information systems. 
Irational.org - occupies the Lux Gallery for a week of events, talks and 
workshops with the help of sister organisations and individuals.

A workshop exploring the Internet, examining it as a site for both political 
communication and action. Workshop participants are invited to spend an 
afternoon in the gallery exploring the hidden possibilities of the Internet.

vessel which became a mobile studio for media art and intercultural exchange,

8.00 THE WIRE/THE LUX CENTRE PRESENT: INTERFERENCE

TECHGNOSIS - MYTH, MAGIC, MYSTICISM AND MUSIC IN THE AGE OF INFORMATION

Interference welcomes Erik Davis, a San Francisco based author whose writing 
has appeared in Wired, The Village Voice, Details, Spin, Rolling Stone and 
The Wire and who  lectures internationally on topics related to cyberculture 
and the fringes of religion. Davis offers a fascinating exploration of the 
mystical impulses behind our obsession with information, and a passionately 
original perspective on techno-culture, focusing on the electromagnetic 
imaginary and the notion of acoustic space, illustrated by sections of an 
exclusive mix by DJ Spooky.

Tonight, Davis is joined by members of IRATIONAL.ORG,  for a panel discussion 
on the acoustic dimensions of the Internet.

DIGITAL VIDEO IN A DAY
with Lina D. Russell

Shoot - digitise - edit - output!!! The power of digital video is in it?s 
accessibility and immediacy. The workshop demystifies the process of making a 
digital video by taking the participants through the entire process in a day.

APOLLO LAUNCH NIGHT 7 - 12pm

The Lux Gallery presents a launch-night party with a screening of absolutely 
breathtaking Apollo 11 footage, lift-off at 8.00pm precisely. This promises 
to be a truly memorable evening with audio played through a PA system. This 
will be followed by a live performance by 19 year musician Zan Lyons who will 
also be dj-ing in the gallery alongside XFM dj?s to boot. 'Having worked with 
various people on a similar musical plane, such as Add N to X, Zan Lyon's 
particular brand of intensity, extremity and agreeable kookiness is

APOLLO! Saturday 17 - Tuesday 20 July, 1999

The Lux Gallery celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing 
with an unprecedented screening of archive NASA footage. The gallery will 
open 12 - 6pm, every day - Sat , Sun, Mon, Tues.
Subsequent screenings of the Apollo 11 moon-landing will occur over the next 
four days12 - 6pm.
