Dear Xchangers,
I have the pleasure to announce that, after more than one year of struggle,
Radio Lilliput is finally online at http://www.radiolilliput.org.

This site is conceived as an online free (banner and sponsor-free as well)
services provider for the new italian music scene; these services are:

*) public access server, online help and bandwidth to shoutcast and soon
also icecast;

*) legal and technical assistance for musicians that operate online (on
sites such as Iuma, mp3.com or the italian Vitaminic) and on copyright
issues as well; on the site there are explanations, translations (even
legalese-to-italian) of the contracts. E-mail help is available for
musicians: this service is extended to all english speaking (pro or
otherwise) musicians, so feel free to e-mail us.

*) free, public access mailing list service.

*) the promotion of the small but developing net radio movement over here
(tune in on thursday nights at 10 pm at
http://broadcast.radiolilliput.org:8000 and dance with us to Guida nella
Giungla);

*) provide internet technical and logistic support to the italian
alternative scene;

*) organize online seminars and symposiums; at the end of october there
will be the first one, held by me - with a lot of help from my friends - on
net-radio, that is also going to feature the Xchange experience (as well as
other ones that have passed through here, like Kunstradio). Expect more
news on this, and if you have any idea or proposal please feel free to
e-mail me, and thank you in advance.

*) provide an english introduction, faq and e-mail help to everyone
interested in the new italian music scene (with links to audio files as
well).

As you can understand this is a difficult project, as we are not funded in
any way; it's all volunteer work (as y'all know well). Our aim is to create
a self supporting structure that retains the same mentality but with better
means (and more bandwidth).

This is why we are focusing on the italian scene. But hey, the shoutcast
server's there (and we can have a decent band too, expecially at night). My
e-mail is sergio@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; if you're in need we won't let anyone
be silent.

One of the main goals of the november net radio seminar is to convince all
the partecipants that net radio IS NOT radio as we know it. I just want to
thank the Xchange netcasters for re-establishing this fact everytime they
play.
