> 1. Do you know what is netcasting or webcasting (N/W)?
> 2. How do you define netcasting or webcasting?

Netcasting is "casting" or transmitting feeds (either audio or video) over
the "net". Webcasting is synonomous.

> 3. Do you know what is the usage of N/W? or Do your company using any
> N/W technology?

To be able to netcast (or in more familiar terms, broadcast) video or
audio through the internet. My organization (freespeech.org) uses it to
overcome the private monopoly of TCI over cable in the US.

> 4. what is the technology of N/W being used in your website or your
> company?

We use RealMedia (www.real.com).

> 5. Do you think N/W is very important?
> 6. If yes, why do you think so?

Definitely. Its analogy is the printing press. Anybody can make
rich media (video or audio) and have it be available for millions of
people.

> 7. what is the benefit of netcasting or webcasting?

Unlike cable broadcasting or AM/FM radio, it is global (well, for those
countries connected to the net).

> 8. what are the problems with the N/W technology that being used in
> the internet or in your company/website?

Bandwidth (the amount of data that can be transmitted per second). Video,
specially, requires a lot of data, and hence the compression technologies
in netcasting make the video extremely small (usually 160x120 pixels) and
not very clear.

> 9. what do you think of the future usage of N/W?

With faster connectivities, people can (theoratically) choose between
hundreds of thousands of netcasters. Ordinary people and not "professional
journalists" can put up their own narratives.
