JOB DESCRIPTION 
Community radio and media in Nepal are developing, but with limited local  
experience and major barriers to overcome, the sector continues to benefit from 
 international cooperation. The current project will focus on development and  
convergence of information and communication technologies as well as programme  
development, production capacity, networking, self-reliance and sustainability. 
 The role of the volunteer will be to work with key members of the station's  
team and other (media partner) organizations to further the goals of community  
public radio in Nepal. The proposed focuses for the cooperant are: new  
technologies, documentation, production and organizational capacity, especially 
 sustainability. The position is also part of a small network of media  
cooperants and partners in Asia supported by CECI volunteers and projects. 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
Develop and support local capacity: programme, production (including  
digital/internet); 

Support local planning and social marketing strategies; 

Elaborate and collect documentation; 

Develop regional/international networking; 

Liaise with CECI programmes in media and development 

Support to AMARC conference in 2002. 
QUALIFICATIONS 
Bachelor or Master in communication; 

4 years background in media and communications; 

Good written and spoken English and eventually functional Nepali. 
CONTRACT DURATION AND DEPARTURE DATE 
Two-year contract starting as soon as possible
