Thanks for the invite! I'd be honoured to participate in the Space.Lab works
in August.
I'm in Perth, Western Australia where I make and perform electronic music.
In the past few years I have been working with alternative forms of data
controllers for my array of modular synthesizers. That has included wiring
up the human body (Stelarc), and transducing the music of the heavens via my
trusty McGreevy VLF receiver (Project:OTTO) .
I think it would be a very coincident thing to work with you guys on this
project. You can see some of my work at http://www.imago.com.au/otto .

hi
hogge and i have some ideas about listening to radio signals of the
earth
we could build a very long antenna along the beach
and listen to strange noises or submarines

Adam and I (r a d i o q u a l i a) are working on a radio/sound project this
year which
investigates key moments of 'contact' or 'communication'. We are focusing
on the south pacific region, but are interested in using our experience in
Latvia to analyse notions of 'polarity', and dislocation between the
hemispheres. One of the key themes of the radio/sound project is the role
of radio in counter-acting (or at times contributing to) the sense of
isolation which stems from geographical remoteness.
We're taking our cue from a text written by a .nz scholar in the 50s called
'harmonic 33'. We're using the theories set out in this book, which state
that the world can be mapped using a series of grid lines defined by
harmonic frequencies, as our starting point. We'll use key stories or
myths which centre on the theme of contact, communication + listening, as a
way to examine these notions.
We'd like to develop a proposal for our time in Latvia which contributes to
this project. We'd be interested to use the dish and make some recordings
of our use of the dish to contribute to the project. We'll have to do much
more research (on the dish) in order to develop a specific proposal, but we
will do so ASAP.

hi derek,
nice to hear from you. how is it going?
ther is a long time gone since we were spoking about our network music
experiment, we planned together with borut. what do you thnik about it
now?
perhaps we could do it for the festival. in that time am also on a
festival
called garage in stralsund/germany. it would be nice to install
something
and connect the two festivals.
what do you think?
best, tamas

we also would be very interesting in purusing some research which
relates to some of tesla's work on telecommunications. are any of
the participants working on tesla-related themes? i wrote to rasa
earlier in the year and suggested they have someone in the project
looking into tesla, as his work seems to cross into all of the areas
we're interested in. there are many scholars of his work,
particularly in the frmr-yugoslaviia area.
i know marko can discuss this research to a certain degree, but he'll
have his own ideas for focus i'm sure ....

I d definitely like to be in on the planning before
hand. Off the top of my head, I would definitely want to do an
intervention that raises public awareness of HAARP and the weird
Tesla/mind-control conspiracy theory world, not in a conspiratorial
way, but as an active technological metaphor for electronic meme
propoganda. What exactly such an intervention would look like I dont
know! I mean, what *can* you do with a radio-telescope??
I wont be able to be on the next few chats, but I will try to join you
in
July.
Definitely keep me posted though!

Dear members,
some ideas follow perhaps to stimulate some of you.
PAST RADIO
Tyrell.Hungary website in 1998 had a fringeware, the Future Radio
Machine that is able to stream audio content that gives the listener a
chance to peek into the mind of the contemporary geniuses creating an
alternate reality. It means that there is a possibility to reach a
would-be future scenario. One can earn special knowledge thru this
voyeurism, as Tyrell brought these technology and ideology secrets,
the would-be and forming thoughts of the contemporary underground,
artistic, ideologist scene - the ones who will be forming the future.
These streams were randomly chosen from net radios of our friends :)
As the radio telescope can recognize all kind of information from far
away, we can make a Past Radio, as a sound from one light year
distance is really one year old. Furthermore we can make a Time Radio,
where the Past is sure and you can choose a direction, or target to
hear what was there a time ago in the galaxy, and Future has always
alternatives - you can choose from several possible scenarios.
SPY RADIO
We can listen into spy satellites.
CD
We can release a CD with tracks from sound recorded from several
galaxies, several times from the past.
Track 01 - Alpha Centauri, 1997 (like Alpha Centauri is approx. 4
light years away as far as I know)
