Greetings "Radio Show For Resume" listeners/potential
listeners/contributers/patient individuals--

This is your host, DaveX. I am writing to let you all know that the
November 7th, 2001 show is still planned, and will hopefully occur
without any problems. (11/7/01, 7pm CST, http://www.widb.net)

The last two shows were dismal. Two weeks ago, a beautiful all-vinyl
(some rare music, too!) show was ruined by my discovery that the radio
station's turntables are broken. One could draw no power, and the other
had somehow developed a problem which caused the tone arm to repeatedly
skate across the record. I attempted to repair it, but had no proper
tools. A kind listener actually came to the studio and attempted to
repair it, but it was not fixable. I decided to broadcast anyway, and
ended up holding the tone arm in place with my hand while playing The
Beatles "Revolution #9". I improvised with the tone arm placement and EQ

for quite some time, hopefully someone out there taped this. If so, I'd
love a copy.

One week ago (Halloween) the radio station (and my whole campus) was
shut down because our school has a problem with rioting every Halloween.

I knew of this shutdown in advance, and had planned to host the show at
www.live365.com... I meticulously prepared 24kbps MP3 copies of Brian
Eno's "Music For Airports", AECO's "The Spiritual", and Edgard Varese's
"Arcana", in hopes of presenting a setlist of more immersive materials.
Alas, the site was experiencing difficulties with these files, which
were beyond my control. Instead, listeners were "treated" to one of my
wife's songs, "Fukai, Fukai", which, although beautiful, is hardly
something to listen to for an hour straight. Anyone who listened to
this, let me know what you thought of it.

At any rate, this coming Wednesday will right all wrongs from the past
couple weeks of RSFR. I'm looking foward to presenting a great show,
maybe I'll bring up my own turntable, so we can play some of that vinyl.

Have a great next few days, and be sure to check in at
http://www.widb.net at 7pm CST this Wednesday, the 7th.

your host,

DaveX
