It might also be worth asking Martin Conrads from convex tv. how they funded net.radio days <http://www.art-bag.net/trimmdich/> in berlin in '98. Are you still around, Martin?

yip!

hi honor, hi sara

as you can see from http://www.art-bag.net/trimmdich/sup.htm#port, berlin net.radio days back in 98 was a small scale-festival regarding financial expenditure.

our main sponsors were the berline senate for cultural affairs and mediacube, a company hosting streams etc. they also hosted some of our streams, archived the lectures on their server and offered space for one of the lecture days. themoney from the berlin senate mostly helped to cover the travelling expenses. the other sponsors, who mostly offered space and/or logistics, were mostly closely related to the people of convex tv. and mikro, so we found easy agreements on collaborations (clubs such as wmf, kunst+technik or halfloop, the local university radio a garden party, humboldt university (+ technological equipment) for another lecture day) etc. so, as for the equipment, we chose partners like mediacube or the humboldt university, so we didn't have to care for installing or acquiring.

neither the net.radio-crowd nor the audience was gigantic (but fine) in numbers, so also logistics didn't have to be too complex.

guess all those informations only would help if you stay really small with your conference, so better cling to honor's list of sponsors....

best
martin
